For this project, I was tasked with designing a "Express Yourself" graphic for a tote bag. I chose to take an illustrated approach, targeting a younger audience. The design features a playful, whimsical illustration of hearts with angel wings and a halo above the text "Self Love Club." My goal was to create a trendy, stylish design that felt modern and appealing, reflecting a positive message of self-love and confidence.
I began by brainstorming ideas for the tote bag design, drawing inspiration from trendy self-love club apparel. I wanted to create something similar but with a playful, whimsical twist, so I incorporated angel hearts into the design. Using Illustrator, I first selected a fun font for the word "Love," converted it to outlines, and experimented with its shape, applying a warp text effect to give it a unique feel. Next, I used the pencil tool to sketch out the hearts and wings. Afterward, I created outlines for these illustrations using the Offset Path tool, then added a dotted line effect with a custom brush to enhance the details and give it a stylish, hand-drawn look. Overall, this project was a fun creative process that allowed me to experiment and fully express my design ideas.
