I designed an album cover and t-shirt for the single "When the Devil Speaks..." by the artist Thxsomch. Drawing inspiration from the artist's unique fusion of indie rock, post-punk revival, and punk, I combined elements of these genres to create a visually striking design that reflects the energy and spirit of the music. The design captures the raw, rebellious essence of the band's sound while staying true to their distinctive style.
For this project, I used both Illustrator and Photoshop to bring the design to life. The first step was selecting the artist, and I chose Thxsomch for their angsty, punk brand identity, which gave me the freedom to create a bold and chaotic album cover. Once I settled on the artist, I explored their music and came across the single "When the Devil Speaks...". The title inspired me to incorporate themes of fire and a pentagram into the design.
I began by creating the illustrations and layering them in Photoshop, using masks to build a dynamic, textured composition. Afterward, I moved to Illustrator to add the text and star element, ensuring the design reflected both the artist's identity and the mood of the single.
Once the album cover was complete, I shifted focus to the t-shirt design. For the shirt, I kept the typography from the album cover but simplified the design by removing the illustrated elements, focusing on a clean, bold text layout.
